The Tuition Rewards program is being provided, at no cost to you, as a courtesy by
Monetta Financial Services, Inc.
Tuition Rewards are issued to the students you “sponsor” in the program each year on a student's birthday. From age 1-to-11, a student will receive 500 Tuition Rewards Points; from age 12-to-14, a student will receive 750 Rewards Points; and, from age 15-to-17, a student will receive 1,000 Rewards Points. Additionally, all students, as well as you – the Sponsor –receive a 500 point enrollment bonus upon account activation.
Each Tuition Reward point is equivalent to a $1.00 guaranteed minimum scholarship, for undergraduate study beginning with the freshman year, at any member college or university. A full list of member colleges is available at www.tuitionrewards.com. The scholarships are provided as discounts off the “list price” of tuition by member colleges and not issued in cash. The scholarships are provided by the colleges, not by SAGE Scholars, your financial professional or the financial organizations with whom your professional is affiliated.
The maximum Tuition Rewards scholarship is limited to the current cost of one year of tuition. Member colleges commit to “spreading” the scholarship amount evenly over a projected four years of attendance. For example, as of 11/1/10, the maximum tuition at any member college was $40,905; if a participating student submitted Reward Points valued at this amount, the college would be obligated to offer a discount of 25% of the total ($10,226.50) for four years. Some member colleges have negotiated a contractual amount that is less than 25% of current tuition. There are three very important deadlines that you must be aware of to use your Tuition Rewards:
1. Enrollment: You must add eligible students (children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members) by August 31 st of the year that the student begins 11 th grade.
2. Allocation: You must transfer any points in your account to students by August 31 st of the year 12 th grade begins. After this deadline, a student's Rewards account can not increase. With your membership, most points are accrued directly in the student's accounts. However, any Sponsor points (registration bonus points or special awards such as referrals you give to your financial professional) must be transferred to specific students by the deadline to be submitted to a member college.
3. Submission: You must submit a Tuition Rewards statement to any member college to which your student applies at the time of the student's application. Statements submitted late to member colleges may not be accepted for tuition reduction.
